Well where to start,

I remember moving from the north down to the south in 98', and from then on I spent many sweet and enjoyable years at Churchgate. I have now successfully completed my first year at university and I am now on my way to starting the second.

Undoubtedly, my progression through my academic life wouldn't have been the same if i hadn't spent those great years at churchgate. It feel privileged to have been part of a school which was run so smoothly, by a great lady.

For this reason, I want to wish Mrs Turnbull all the best in her future endeavors.

I heard that you were leaving, and so wanted to say what a fantastic head teacher you were when I was at churchgate! Thank you for a blessed time at churchgate, there are memories I have that I will always remember - Red nose day, a play I vaguely remember to do with beetle's juice.. hmm. Not sure about that one!! Yet I have memories that stand out so vividly in my mind - my very first day when I met Alice, and we were best friends from that day till she moved to Peebles, Scotland. Playing with the white boards in year 2 with Mrs. Bullen, and our cardboard car!! I loved that... We'd bicker about who goes in the front seat with the steering wheel!

Thank you for teaching so well, and for making it fun!!

This goes to everyone really make the most of churchgate, at the time it feels like it is going so slow, but you dont actually realise how fast it goes. Although my secondary school is alright my german teacher is so BORING!!!!! and moany. I really hated MarkHall when i started, then getting runover on my way to MarkHall really didnt help!!! i so wish i was back at churchgate and at the moment i have my fingers crossed and am hoping i dont have to go to school tomorrow because of the snow (yeah) missing all of you at churchgate i will try and get over there soon when i have the time with the busy life i have (lol)

I am enjoying mrs stewarts class very very much she is really nice, although I am missing mr loaders class VERY VERY BADLY!!! I was very happy to be in the first book of honour in year 6! IM REALLY GONNA MISS THIS SCHOOL ID DO ANYTHING TO STAY HERE FOR JUST 1 MORE YEAR. All the teachers were fab and all the lessons were brilliant. I actually used to not enjoy going to school but churchgate made school a lovely place to be. I just wanted to give a huge thank you to all the teachers an also the pupils you have all helped keep this school in shape. Now that i am moving on to mark hall i still will never forget any of you! hey i was a student here from 2000 to 2008. those years will never be forgotten! I cant belive I am leaving already. I will realy miss you all, teachers and my freinds and other people I know. Just reading your ReUnited page and would like to say that the Big House at the top of the field almost adjacent to the church yard was indeed the Churchgate Street School, I remember it having high ceilings and outside toilets!

I was lucky enough to attend your award ceremony today and think it is such a brilliant idea, I do not know of any other school that holds this event well done, Harrison was lucky enough to have his name engraved on the achievment shield. Hello, the site looks very nice, particularly the psychodelic wallpaper. I had a good time at church gate, most memorably Mr Loaders talks on god and his skipping rope games.

The hedgehog game was really fun but it was a bit hard sometimes. I got stuck but then I got there in the end. I got all the cards. The songs were good, especially the winning rap. It's really cool that all this stuff is on the school website now.

What a lovely little website! It seems a lifetime since my time as parent/midday assistant at Churchgate, on the other hand, it seems like yesterday in some ways!
It was a very busy time of life for me, and I value very much the memories of many members of staff over the years, and young friends amongst the pupils!
Also had some memorable times with colleagues, but that's another story.
Particularly remember a lovely day out at at Kew, and a fun day with Mrs. Kett and Mr. Alvis to Chislehurst Caves, with Russell Parr clinging to me all the way round!

I am a pupil at churchgate, it is the best school ever I dont want to leave and i will cry my eyes out when i do and i will miss all my friends and teachers. All of the teachers are great (including mrs kett, mrs richardson, mrs bolton, mrs brown and mrs stuart and of corse mrs turnbull.)

Hi there, I've got some fond memories of this school, especially of the assembly. i went here way back in '93! that makes me sound very old but the truth is i'm only 19. I'm doing medicine in london and loving it, just wanted to check out how my old school was doing, i miss the lack of responsibility but being a student isnt exactly repressing!

hiya its chelsey gough. just found out about this website from my boyfirend joes, aunty sarah. im really happy to write on here and i cant believe how every body has changed. i went to markhall but now i go to leventhorpe school in sawbridgeworth. 4 years ago i left there but i still have some very vivid memories but they are all really good ones. my year 5 group of girls were the 1st in harlow to win the high fives netball in harlow and i was always comitted to the netball and a passionate player! Also for my district sports at sheering school i never let churchgate down and won every year for my 100 metre sprints.
any way hope you are all keeping really well and a big hello to my old favourite teachers mrs brown and mr loader...if you are still there!

Wow i cant believe it was only 4 years ago i went to churchgate i miss it sooo much, i will never forget the happy memories i had. the year 6 leaving trip was the best we had so much fun! all the competitions we used to do at St.Nicks (swimming for me) it was great. Hello, i went to Churchgate in 1998 but we moved away from harlow in 2001. I went back to look at the school in the weekend, as we frequently come to harlow and was happy that it looked the same! But just not as tall :). When i looked on the website and i saw that Mrs Tunrball was still there aswell as Mrs Brown who i had in year 2 and Ms Crow who i had in year 1 and Mrs Kett in year 3, I was amazed. Great website! I started at Churchgate in about 1984, And loved the time i spent there.Unfortunately i had to change schools after a couple of years.
I rememberr vividly Mr Tring and how he used to pick me up by my ear when i was naughty, and that i was quite glad for the change to Moreton Primary.
Only to find out two weeks in that Mr Tring had changed to Moreton also!!, i swear my right ear is now higher than my left!!
But i have to say he was the best teacher i had through out my school days, And a very fair man.
And i have nothing but the best memories of Churchgate, And of course making fun over thr fence to Knicker bocker glorings!!! Thanks to everyone there

I go to churchgate and i think it is one of the best schools ever.Each year we have a play and they are really fun making them.The teachers are really kind.The teacher i have got now is Mr.Loader and Mrs Boulton and they are really kind to everyone.if you are stuck on something they will help you so that you undersatand it and that is the same with every other teacher.

I'm an ex-pupil attended 1979-1985! I'm 31 now and found site as now looking for school for my little boy! Have very fond memories of the school, particularly the lovely playground in the summer and the school assemblies! I get the feeling from info on the website that the school still has it's warm friendly appeal, I hope my little boy can attend too!!

Churchgate Primary School..... I started there at the old site in 1968 and moved down the hill when the new site was built, my folks even took out their shovels and spades to dig the swimming pool. Assemblies were the start to our day with the Head Master and teachers setting us up for a day of learning, fun, exercise and maybe even a few hymns and prayers. I have nothing but happy memories of my time there, I have family still in the area so get up from Somerset regularly and always give you a wave as I pass Hobbs X road.

I just had to say what a fantastic day we all had at the school fete on 25th June.
The t-towels with all the childrens pictures were exceptional. The band "readers sons" were excellent and I would definately recommend them to anyone. Thanks I know how much work went into the day and it was lovely.

What a beautiful website you have! This morning I was thinking about the wonderful semester I spent at Churchgate with Mrs. Ingham and the Reception Class. So I thought I'd have a look for the school website and found this one. What a wonderful surprise! I was espcially happy to see the photos of my former students. I can hardly believe that they are moving on to Class 4 this year! They all look so grown up! I hope you all had a fantastic summer and are ready for a brand new school year. From an ex (and I mean ex, I attended Churchgate from 1977) pupil, I have many fond memories of Churchgate Primary and remembering growing up in the village, I would recommend to anyone thinking of providing their child with a first class start in education, that you would find nowhere better than Churchgate. However don't let your kids get into scraps through the fence with the private school next door....we had cut grass to throw..... they had apples !!!!! (ow!) Glad to see Churchgate is still going as strong as ever, some of the happiest days of my life !
