Churchgate ReUnited

A warm welcome back to Churchgate CofE Primary School albeit a virtual one.

We hope you will enjoy browsing our site and that the photos evoke some happy memories for you. If you would like to make a real trip down memory lane (with or without your family), please join us at one of our Summer or Christmas fetes. Dates are published in the News section. Your children or even grandchildren may enjoy seeing where mum, dad or grandparents went to school.

Please use our guestbook to say hello or share your memories with our pupils or join in our current discussion described in the Children's section.  Your memories are living history for our school and the children like to hear tales of yore. Our guest book moderator will pass on any messages to staff and pupils where appropriate.

If you are seeking a to contact a former collegue, our recommendation is to visit the Friends Reunited site (see the Links section of our site).  If you search for A School called churchgate you will be asked to login or register and will be presented with the option to choose a school, we recommend the Hobbs Cross Road option unless you truly are old school.

  1. Churchgate CofE Primary School (Hobbs Cross Road, Harlow, Essex, South East).
This is the school at at its current site and the Friends Reunited has 251 people on its list last time our administrator looked including some limited entries from the late 1940s.
  2. Churchgate street CofE school (Churchgate Street, Harlow, Essex South East).
We believe that Churchgate Street School is the Old School House, next to St. Mary's church. This was closed when the school was moved to its current site. Friends Reunited had 34 people in the school list, including one from someone who started the school in 1964.

This information is correct as of 22 Feb 2006. If the site has changed and our navigation instructions are out of date, please let us know by email to admin@churchgate.essex.sch.uk marking it Attn: Website administrator.

Friends Reunited offer functions that we would find difficult or too expensive to match including:

  • biographies of former friends and collegues
  • the ability to contact alumni and organise reunions ( with spam protection, guestbooks are targetted to glean email addresses)
  • a dedicated message board, uncensored by the school's protective mandate
  • photo albums
