Welcome from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to offer you a warm welcome to Churchgate Church of England (Voluntary Aided)
Primary School. The school was founded by the church to provide education according to the
principles and practices of the Church of England. Being a church foundation we are grant aided by
the Department for Education and maintained by the Local Authority.
We are extremely proud of our school and place a special emphasis on our relationship with parents,
the local church St Mary’s and the wider community. You are most welcome to come in and see our
school in action. Come and spend some time with us to see for yourself our caring, Christian, family
atmosphere that helps to inspire and motivate our children to learn.
As a staff we are committed to a framework of excellent relationships, caring discipline, high
expectations and hard work, within an environment where each individual child is valued.
As parents, you play a vital role in the education of your child and I hope that this will be a happy
and rewarding partnership with your family.
We believe in values at our school, and they are applicable to all the children and to all the members
of our staff. The values are courage, compassion and friendliness. They are discussed in collective
worship and in classes and are at the heart of what we believe.
This website provides information about our school, its aims, the curriculum and additional activities
that the school provides. It is not meant to take the place of personal contact between home and
school, but I hope it answers some of your questions.
Yours sincerely,
Clare Charter
